The way it should be

The time of proposal is the happiest occasion of a lifetime. The kiss that follows is devoid of time; passionate enough to last forever. The memory is always in the couples' mind. Who could forget such a leap into their relationship?

The tears swelled in her eyes when she saw the diamonds glittering in the faint moonlight. They fell down her smooth skin, which was a creamy white. Her hand shook when I put it on her. How beautiful, the sparkling ring to match her eyes. The ring fit perfectly, as I had known it would.

This was her dream proposal, as was mine. We fit into one another's arms like we were made for each other. What would have once been duped as swingers turned into a lifetime of passionate love and never ending happiness. It is enough for both of us. Who could wish for anything more from life when life has already given you more than you ever asked for?

If only this moment could stretch on to last forever. It always will in my mind. The rest of my life is to be devoted to the woman who is sobbing tears of joy, clinging to my arms. There has never been and will never be anyone more beautiful. Who else could look like her, beautiful even with a tear stained face? Her lips gently touch mine. This is the first kiss of our new beginning.

Had our kisses ever been so passionate before? Did the proposal let loose more love than either of us had anticipated? We certainly had not. This girl is my life, and I have chosen to spend the rest of it with her. Happily would I give my soul for only one minute of having her in my arms. Here she is, with me having given that and everything else I have. I get hers in return.

The kiss ends. I look deeply into her eyes. Such eyes seem to hold the whole world in them. My life would be at a terrible loss without them to be my guiding light. Without them, I would be nothing more than nothing. Somehow, I know that they will always be mine.
