My career was finally taking of, I studied hard for over 4 years and finally I was at a time in my life were my career was really moving, clients were even coming directly to me asking for me to do work for them, that rarely happens so it seemed my name was getting out there in the business world and I was so proud of all I had achieved in such a short time, it was a very big deal. However despite how good my career was going there was something missing, truth is I longed for a girlfriend, someone soft and delicate who loved me for who I am, someone I could build a strong bond with and form a lasting relationship, I was a secret romantic and wanted to share that with the right person, all the best poets out there are my idol. There are social meetings out there called speed dating. It's where a group of single willing people that are looking for more than a fling gather together and try to find try to build a relationship. The problem with speed dating though, is the very nature of it. Like it's title insists, speed dating is a series of mini-dates, where you all play sort of a "romatic" version of 'musical chairs'. You're paired with another single and for two minutes you both ask each other as many cute questions as you can to find out more about each other. However in 120 seconds, there isn't enough time to form a connection, so you're usually left with the same stock questions of: "Hi. My Name is Such-and-Such. I do this for a living. What do you do?" -- And just like that, your time is up. It's very hard to try and find true love in speed dating.

I have a friend that thinks that dating women online is a great idea. Even though I have never done this sort of thing before, I really couldn't relate to him. I decided to try free online dating. I never had tried it before but I did not see the harm in it. I figured that perhaps free online dating could actually be more interesting than normal dating so free online dating was worth a shot right? My friend who was actually my best friend had met her husband to be using a free online dating website and they really did seem like the real deal. They were really close and I even figured that perhaps they could actually be soul mates which was just amazing and I was happy for them. I wanted to be just as happy as they were though because I had only ever had stupid flings where the relationship is only usually stable when in the bedroom. Now I wanted a proper relationship and a serious commitment to somebody rather than just an embrace and then sex. I thought if my best friend can find true love on the internet then perhaps I could too. It took me a while to find some good dating websites but I eventually found one that seemed to suit me perfectly. There were plenty of men that appealed to me and I became in contact with some really nice people, many of whom became good friends so I was pretty happy that even if I did not find somebody special, at least I had made some good friends that hopefully would stick around for quite a long time if not forever. Then one day, as I was browsing a few pages on the site, I came across a guy who just stood out. I don't know why he stood out to be honest, but he just did and when I saw a picture of him I could not help it but a huge smile spread across my face. He lived close by and he seemed nice from what his profile said about him so I decided to send him a message. It was great because he was online at the time so replied pretty much instantly and it was not long before we were meeting up over cups of coffee and going shopping. This is a true story of my love life. I will tell the whole story deeply and explain why it becomes my most important role in my life. I met her in a brief encounter in a department store. Politics of adult dating doesn't phase him much although he knew there were countless happenings of significance that both happened, and also happened to him on a daily, if not minutely, basis. He just couldn't really bring himself to care. Some may have called it a lack of inspiration, perhaps even a depression. But another proposal was that it was also partially due to the fact that he was completely self-absorbed and not at all sexy or cute. Other disorders were pinned on him because of that. He was self-absorbed, that is, unless there was something that he had learned, through experience, that he should be concerned with. But even that could be traced back to self-interest. The funny thing is, no one seemed to notice he was self-absorbed, but only that he wasn't sexy or cute. Everyone thought he was a swell guy, something he couldn't really understand. He thought, 'man, I've really fooled everyone… people don't even realize I'm a turd'. He wanted to be sexy though, to really feel it in his heart (he didn't know what 'it' was, but he knew it must be something). But you can't really force those things now, can you? Lord knows he tried, but making a proposal to care didn't really seem to pan out. It's something that just comes naturally to most people. That's not to say that everyone cares about somebody, or something, but those that don't care, don't care that they don't care which results in not much of anyone noticing. My best friend has always been skeptical when it comes to dating sites. He never completely grasped the concept of a matchmaker. So, when his sister urged him to try it, he did so hesitantly. He wasn’t sure of what to expect. To him, deciding on a potential partner through a picture and a few short words on a website had a strange feel. It wasn’t right to him. But, he tried it anyway to please his sister. He had been alone for some time and hadn’t been on a date in months. It was time that he try meeting new people. The first day after he had set up his profile on the dating site proved to be an exciting one. Immediately, he had at least five inquiries. All of them were nice looking ladies and, based on their profiles, had something worthwhile to offer. He chatted with all of them for the next two weeks to try to decide which lady he liked best. None of them really held his attention the way that one particular profile did. This lady had not contacted him, but he wanted to contact her. He was afraid at first, then nervous. He didn’t always believe in love at first site but just after looking at her picture he began to feel something. He didn’t want to contact her and then learn that she didn’t feel the same way. It would be foolish. So, he decided to step outside of his comfort zone and contact her. The initial conversation was exciting. They had so much in common. As I was growing up I never had much luck when it came to dating boys. I always seemed to get involved with either the most unpopular, dullest boy in the year, or go to the other extreme and be involved with the bad boy who was pretty popular but always getting me and himself into a lot of trouble. As I'd never felt particularly happy with any boys I got involved with through my younger years sex was something I had always refused to be a part of and stemmed off until my adult years.
