The way it should be

My best friend has always been skeptical when it comes to dating sites. He never completely grasped the concept of a matchmaker. So, when his sister urged him to try it, he did so hesitantly. He wasn’t sure of what to expect. To him, deciding on a potential partner through a picture and a few short words on a website had a strange feel. It wasn’t right to him. But, he tried it anyway to please his sister. He had been alone for some time and hadn’t been on a date in months. It was time that he try meeting new people. The first day after he had set up his profile on the dating site proved to be an exciting one. Immediately, he had at least five inquiries. All of them were nice looking ladies and, based on their profiles, had something worthwhile to offer. He chatted with all of them for the next two weeks to try to decide which lady he liked best. None of them really held his attention the way that one particular profile did. This lady had not contacted him, but he wanted to contact her. He was afraid at first, then nervous. He didn’t always believe in love at first site but just after looking at her picture he began to feel something. He didn’t want to contact her and then learn that she didn’t feel the same way. It would be foolish. So, he decided to step outside of his comfort zone and contact her. The initial conversation was exciting. They had so much in common. After a few weeks of chatting online, they decided to meet. Right away he knew that he had to plan a proposal. He wanted to marry this woman.There were so many ways to make this proposal perfect for this wonderful woman. He had so many tough choices to make. He loved her with all of his heart and it all started with his reluctance to join a dating site at his sister’s request. Finally, he figured out the best way to ask for the lady’s hand in marriage. She was a woman of adventure, so a scavenger hunt through a field with exciting clues to something special was the best route for him to take. Without a doubt, she accepted his proposal. Seven years and two children later, they’re still together. I am so happy my best friend, whom I met through this dating site, listened to his sister’s advice about online dating and decided to give it a try. If he hadn’t, then he wouldn’t be my husband today.
