Renee kicked the apartment door close with her foot as she juggled her

Renee kicked the apartment door close with her foot as she juggled her briefcase, two grocery bags and her keys. When was she going to learn to shop for food on a regular schedule like normal people? Probably never, she noted in her head, since "normal people" do "normal things" like shopping on Saturday morning - right about the time she'd "normally" be crawling into bed after a night out with the girls.
While she admittedly loved the life of a single girl, Renee seriously needed a fling. While her friends were always in search of a gorgeous husband, Renee was really quite content with her circumstances. She enjoyed her freedom, she didn't answer to anyone but herself and certainly didn't feel that she needed a husband. A gorgeous fling, however, would be quite acceptable.
Renee's friends tried all the tricks. Social networking, on-line dating sites, singles night at the local pub and even speed dating. While she was always up for the pub, Renee couldn't fathom speed dating. "How much can you know about someone in ten minutes then DING! Move along!" she'd said to her friends just the night before. They laughed and told her those kind of events were just for a lark and that she should come along some time. She said she'd think about it but she knew she wouldn't go. Just not her thing.
As she was emptying her grocery bags onto the counter and noting, with some disdain, that she'd forgotten to get toothpaste yet again, Renee was jolted by slamming and banging coming from the hallway. Wishing she had a peephole in her door, she instead opened it a little and peered out. "Son of a..." she heard the fellow say, as he then spotted her and said, "Oh... sorry... I'm just having so much trouble getting this through the doorway." It was rather hard to miss the large antique dresser he was wrangling. He extended his hand, rather forcing her to open the door now, and said, "Hey... I'm Sam. If you live in there, then I guess we're neighbors." She shook his hand and said, "I guess we are. I'm Renee."
Sam gave her the most adorable smile and she could have sworn she saw sparks fly. Perhaps a fling could be made to order? Delivered even? In the back of her mind, she was daringly filling out the next application - for a gorgeous husband.
